| I had to visit the Old police academy and Choa Chu Kang Cemetry as part of recee for GP. Old police academy was more like a feast for the flies. It was interesting however, to visit abandoned areas with tombstones. It took me a lot of courage to feel ready to go to the cemetry.Especially when i was driving, i literally started praying the moment i enetered the christian cemetry Path 11. My colleague said that going to the christian one first would prepare me for the chinese one since the latter was more eerie. He was right. I was still scared. I had to overcome that, focus on the purpose of the visit. It was 9pm. Pitch black. After the visit, just one thing came to my mind. When i die, what do i want my tombstone to write? What will people remember me as? All my educational qualifications and whatever i've achieved would be buried. The only thing left would be whats left of my heart and how i've made an impact upon people's lives. That's all you will be remembered for. Not how any PHD's you have, or how rich you are. The reality of whats afterlife also hit me greatly. I saw tombstones of the young and the old. You're life could be taken from you anytime. Do you know what will happen to you after your death? I'm glad i'm assured of a place in Heaven (according to the bible) and i know there's nothing to fear, of death. Life is short. Some people say, live life to the fullest, party like crazy. I guess, my motto is transformed to Life is short, make a difference in society before its too late. Know God, know of your place in Heaven before its too late. |
