Going back to office and staying there the whole day was a bittersweet experience for me. On one hand, i was happy cos i have to follow up with my clients and can get some work done but on the other hand, i can't get myself back to work. Being away from office for 6 days(ommitting the tues night) was so wierd. I was attending a guidance program training at MCYS for the past 3 days and it was such a focussed and concentrated course where they squeeezed tonnes of material into 3 days.. and morever, we were doing Cognitive behavioural therapy. By the end, i lost lots of brain cells. But it was a really good course, learnt a lot and hopefully will follow up and conceptualise it more. As i go for more and more training, i'm beginning torealise that u may feel more and more equipped but if u don't go back, reflect and conceptualise the material furthur, everything u learn is just going to slip by you. Just like studying. If you don't continuously study, u will forget what you've learnt the first time.. so those doing "o" levs, Jacintha, Lisa, Julian and A lev's, Bryan.. Don't give up! Your brain is taking in new info each time so keep on studying! Being in office can be really fun with fun colleagues! Jo and Kel are becoming more and more fun to be around! had dinner with them too and yep, i guess finally we're out of the "just colleagues" shell and have really started to be friends. Really like them most.. and Thank God my days at tfsc are brightened! So i'm the new welfare officer at tfsc and it seems my first duty started today as the current welfare officer's birthday is tomo and i was asked to do a small celebration for her.. i tried wrapping her present but jo and Letty said it looked terrible. Think i might need help with this one in future. But in any case, celebrating birthdays are something normal to me because i do it all the time for Riverz and its so much part of "me". But its fun that everyone has new ideas for staff welfare..hope it will be a good year for all staff where their welfare will be taken care of:) And as per Boss's request, we'll get to go to cairns for staff retreat next yr! My client gave me so many gifts today.. like choclates and biscuits. She thought that since its deepavali, she must give me these things.. so funny.. she alsog ot her mum to buy me earrings from bangkok. so sweet of her.. i'm "pampered". Tomo i'll just go to office for morning training and i'd have to learn before i know it! Tomo's the first of the series of scholars orientation to the social service sector. Quite excited cos they will be bringing us to the Singapore Boy's home at the end of the program from MCYS. And of course, seem like an important person since ur supposedly a "scholar". I'm puking already. |
